How to Cancel your PPLIC (Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company) And Get your Refund!

If you're one of the many unfortunate people who have been convinced to get an insurance policy from PPLIC (Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Company) but wish to cancel it, below are just some of the steps that I have taken for faster cancellation of my policy and get my refund from the said company.

How to Cancel PPLIC Policy and Get Refund

    1. Go to the branch where you got your policy and submit a Letter of Cancellation stating your reason for doing so. Again, the sooner you have the policy cancelled, the soon you will get your refund.

    2. Have your cancellation letter received by the manager and get a copy of the said letter. Make sure that you keep a copy of all the documents that you surrendered and let them sign the document as they receive so you will have a proof that they actually received it.

    3. Request for a new Statement of Account which states, "Canceled upon inception".
You will also receive a letter of confirmation that your policy has been cancelled (as per requested on your letter of cancellation) several days after the documents have been forwarded to their main office (especially for those who are in the provincial areas).

    4. File a dispute report to your Credit Card Company and attach the Statement of Account and Cancellation Letter. This will ensure that the amount would not be credited to your bill.

For Those Who Paid through Debit Card (ATM) or Cash

You simply need to follow almost the same procedures except the fourth step. Instead, you will need to withdraw all the money you have left on the account but do not let the account close! (You will need it because it is where they would refund or charge back your money).

In my case, my ATM card is where my payroll is so it's kinda difficult to control the cashflow income in the ATM account unless I try to talk with our accounting department about putting my salary on hold as to prevent the PPLIC from deducting monthly premiums from my account anymore. If you're not into such situation, then you would only need to wait 30-45 working days to get your money refunded to your account or charged back to your credit card account.

Got my Refund from PPLIC in less than 30 Days!

I got my refund in less than 30 days. Feel free to read more on this post for details. If you want to know more I got convinced into getting the policy and want to share your experiences too, so you can warn others, read this post and leave your comments.

If you still have questions, feel free to connect with me using this page instead of emailing me because it's the best way to get in touch with me. Best of luck in getting your insurance policy cancelled and money refunded!

    hi miss jonha,

I was one of those unfortunate people who was victimized by this company. Yur blog is very informative and a great help that I decided to file a cancellation letter tomorrow. May I ask what part of the contract states that I can cancel the plan within 15 days because I cannot locate it on my contract. :( the plan that I was forcefully availed is WEALTH BUILDER PLUS. I hope i can get a reply from you as soon as possible because I only have two days before the 15 days period expires. Thanks and keep on fighting!

Same with you percival, I was also one of those who were victimized by that company! I have also availed that Wealth Builder Plus, at first, they called me and told me that I was one of those who were luckily chosen to have their freebies! After that they let me wait in a room, then we have a discussion about this and that! Then I have eventually realized that I don't like to pursue the insurance anymore. I have searched about this insurance, then boom! I was unlucky enough to know that this was just a tactic to trick people... I have just availed last February 5, good thing i was able to search about this. Now I am convinced that I would like to cancel the policy... thanks for the blog...

Great. I was one of those victims who are being misguided by this company. The day when I came to know about the fraud I decided to drop my policy. But I was not aware how to carry out this process. Thanks for making such a useful post.

At isa pa, yong taong nag hire sakin to become a victim of this is kasamahan ko sa work until now. Pwede ko po ba syang gawing way or sa kanya ko rin settle ang pagpa cancel ko ng plan ko & ask ko rin na sya na rin mismo ang mangangatawang bawiin ang pera ko from the PPLIC..? thank u

i was there at PPLIC this morning. i was there because somebody sent me a text message that i have 3 rewards from them [ 3 exclusive rewards and privilges for a free (2yrs. scholarshps certificate;IMS medical certificate & raffle tickets.)] Out of curiosity i went there but i was saying to myself that i will just listen and not get any insurance from them. i even asked why/how they got my number and how come i got those rewards. The lady told me that she will explain it. but then in the middle of the discussion she really didn't mention. i asked again, but i got no response about it, and instead she continued babbling, discussing and suddenly i forgot about it. Actually there were 3 ladies who talked to me one at a time. they offered me the insurance. i said to them i will think about it first but then they said that "this opportunity is just for today". i was thinking at the time "really? just for today? when in fact i received the text msg 2 days ago..? if the opportunity is "for today only", then why was i persuade/allowed to get the insurance when i received the txt msg 2days ago and not "today"? but then i continued to listen though. another flaw: the 1st person who spoke to me said it will not automatically take pyt from my debit card, 2nd person said, it will, and 3rd person said it will not!? inconsistent! but then later on i decided to go for it (maybe it's my way of getting rid of them or maybe out of respect that they were very determined to discuss, in other words to compensate their effort... but now i realized that i really made the wrong decision)... i chose the least amount though, Php 937.84 and i was already thinkin i'd withdraw all my money every payday (coz the debit card is also for my payroll...good thing i didn't gave them my savings account. the agreement is i'll pay every 1st day of the qaurter, but im afraid they will take money on paydays, so i think i'm just gonna cancel it.. Thank God i read your article how to cancel it, coz i really didn't know what to do..

why is PPLIC considered a scam? i was persuaded last sunday and unfortunately they were able to sell the insurance to me... :( good thing, i am reading your blog and i will cancel my policy this weekend.

The insurance itself is not a scam. But they use dirty tactics to sell the insurance, and you might end up buying even if normally you wouldn't have. They don't give you time to research on your own!!!!

I'm an OFW victim of the marketing scheme and I'm leaving soon, so I might as well just keep it with hard feelings. The money I shouldered is not very painful (I did my best to avoid the 1 Million plan as I don't feel like suddenly spending 170+ thousand Php.

For those who are intelligent enough not to be victims, please spread this on facebook and else where! I'm already too embarrassed and people will find out why if I share this on facebook. Facebook would be the only way people will learn about this without going through their greedy agents.

    Thank you very much.
